Christmas 1

We ended up getting a lot done yesterday despite my slightly dubious post. Robert and Tammy saw all the wells and drank from at least one. Most of the rest of us had our first Moru lesson, from Morris, who is an excellent, very organized, teacher. We have real hope of learning at least a smattering of this language.

We also got to visit Mama Margaret's secondary school, which is much improved over the past few years. And we made kind of an unauthorized foray into commercial Lui with a visit to a shop, where we arranged to pick some purchases up later. When we walked back there (by Lunjini), we waited more than two hours for our order, and Vasco followed us down the road... Oops...

Today everyone but me went to the cathedral. I went back to Lui parish, where they all said, "Where is Emily?" I got to show the St. Timothy's videos and answer their questions about our congregation. They are planning to send letters back with me for St. Tim's.

I'll be in Juba Monday and Tuesday, posting if my BlackBerry has email, but I'm not sure that's too likely. Now I'm off, as the bishop and diocesan staff are waiting for a closing meeting.
